Introduction I. â€Å"Imagine that you’re at home with your family sitting around the table laughing and joking while eating Sunday dinner when all of a sudden your grandmother suffers a mild heart attack. II. Do you know how to handle this type of situation by administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, better known as CPR. As a Medical Assistant, I have been certified in CPR and I will teach you what to do in a medical emergency. IV. This afternoon, I will explain to you the life saving process of scene safety, contacting emergency medical services, and administering CPR. Body I. According to the American Red Cross, the first step in an emergency is scene safety.
